About the vcard qr code
The code contains a vCard - the same format an exported contact uses - so scanning it offers to add you to the address book directly, rather than opening a page the person then has to copy from.
Version 3.0 is used rather than 4.0. It is older, but it is what phone contact apps actually import reliably, and a card that will not import is worse than an out-of-date format.

- Is anything I enter sent to a server?
- No. The QR code is generated by JavaScript running on your own device, and nothing you type - a Wi-Fi password, a phone number, a contact card - is uploaded, stored or logged. You can disconnect from the network after the page loads and it keeps working.
- How much can I put on it?
- Everything here fits comfortably, but each field makes the code denser and harder to scan from a distance. For a business card, a name, one phone number and one email scan far better than every field filled in.
- Will it work with any phone?
- Modern iPhones and Android phones read it from the camera and offer to create a contact. Very old devices may need a dedicated QR app.
- Do these codes expire, or need an account?
- No. The code contains the content itself rather than a link to us, so there is nothing to expire, nothing to track and no service that can stop working. Once you have downloaded it, it will keep scanning forever.
