- No. The QR code is generated by JavaScript running on your own device, and nothing you type - a Wi-Fi password, a phone number, a contact card - is uploaded, stored or logged. You can disconnect from the network after the page loads and it keeps working.
- Do these codes expire, or need an account?
- No. The code contains the content itself rather than a link to us, so there is nothing to expire, nothing to track and no service that can stop working. Once you have downloaded it, it will keep scanning forever.
- Should I download SVG or PNG?
- SVG for anything printed - it is a vector, so it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a shop window. PNG for anything on a screen, or for software that will not take an SVG.
- How much text can a QR code hold?
- In theory about 3,000 bytes, but a code that full has so many modules that a phone camera struggles with it. This tool caps at 2,000 bytes, and in practice anything over a few hundred characters is better as a link.
